About Keswick Multi-Care

Keswick's Vision is to develop, deliver and manage premier senior service programs in our Baltimore Market Area that can be emulated nationally by others - always focused on the delivery of compassionate care combined with clinical and community-based research. Our emphasis is on the preservation of individual independence, dignity and respect as we seek to meet individual care needs in a place our clients call home.

Our services to the Baltimore area started in 1883. Now, after all these years in the community, we’ve learned a great deal about senior care. Today, Keswick’s reputation for combining innovative therapies and advanced medical technology to treat the illnesses and complications of aging has earned us worldwide recognition.

A HISTORY OF CARING

In 1883, Keswick was chartered by the Maryland General Assembly and moved to the original location at 202 East Fayette Street.  In 1926, Keswick moved to the Egenton estate at 700 West 40th Street.

In 1929, the Carey Wing was added, bringing patient capacity to 100.  In the 1930's, the Bauernschmidt Building was added to care for men.  During that time, the Singley Building and the Dunning Auditorium were added to the campus, as well.  The Coggins Building was built in 1974 with phase 2 completed in 1987.

Renovations to the campus from 2000 to 2007 include the addition of facilities for Adult Day Services, Johns Hopkins at Keswick, The Henry S. Baker, Jr. Building and Keswick Memory Care.
